If you are aged 16-19 and are studying in further education, you could be entitled to help with the costs of education.
The Bursary fund is paid directly to your school, college or training provider who will then decide how much and when it is paid. The Bursary fund may help towards the cost of lunch, transport and equipment.
Bursary’s up to £1,200 a year can be applied for if you are:
- Claiming Income Support
- Receiving Employment and Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance
- In care or care leaver
If you do not fit the above criteria but believe you should still be entitled to a bursary due to your personal circumstances, speak to your tutor or the Sixth Form team. You may be entitled to a discretionary bursary. You could get a discretionary bursary if you need financial help but don’t qualify for a vulnerable student bursary.
