On Monday 7th March, 10 of Smiths Wood’s talented musicians took part in the OSOSIC’s mass orchestra and played at the prestigious Symphony Hall, along side several other Solihull primary and secondary schools.
The concert consisted of music from BBC 10 pieces, and was an eclectic mix of classical favourites, to new work from up and coming international and contemporary composers, of which our young musicians premiered!
This was an amazing opportunity for our students, who had also previously worked with Birmingham Conservatoire instrumental specialists one to one in a workshop at Smiths Wood Sports College in January in preparation for the concert. The evening was a great success, and has given our students the chance to build on their musicianship skills and confidence as young players. They were absolutely amazing and we are very proud of each and every one of them!
