The exciting new AQA course offers pupils a wide range of different experiences with the English language.
The double award course, English Literature and English Language GCSE, and the single English GCSE, allow pupils to use their imaginations with different pieces of creative writing, improve their confidence through speaking and listening, learn how they are being manipulated by advertising and newspapers through the study of non-fiction texts, and become familiar with a wide range of famous novels and poems. The double award course features more literature study than the single award.
There are a range of extra curricular activities, from the Brilliant Club, for high achieving pupils. The study of famous novels and plays also means we have the opportunity to take trips to see theatre productions. Last year, groups went to Stratford and London to see theatrical versions of the texts they were studying.
