A huge well done to all of our students who took part in the Bronze Practice Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition this weekend.
Throughout the expedition, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork and a positive attitude. They fully embraced the experience, stepping away from technology and immersing themselves in the outdoors, developing valuable life skills such as navigation, independence and collaboration. Opportunities like this play a key role in building confidence and character beyond the classroom.
We are proud to offer experiences such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as part of our wider enrichment provision at Smith’s Wood Academy, within the Fairfax Multi Academy Trust. These opportunities support our commitment to developing well rounded, ambitious and resilient young people who are prepared for their futures.
A sincere thank you to all of the staff who gave their time to support the expedition and worked behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their dedication and commitment made this a safe, successful and memorable experience for everyone involved.
