We are part of Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust (FMAT) and we cater for students from the ages of 11 to 16 years of age. Our published admissions number for students is 210.

New and in-year admissions
To apply for a place at the academy, an application must be made using the admission service provided by Solihull Local Authority. Apply via the Solihull MBC website.
Please inform us if you are considering an application for a place at Smith’s Wood. We would be delighted to give you and your child a tour of the academy and answer any questions you may have. Our academy prospectus gives you a flavour of what life is like at Smith’s Wood Academy.

Appeals
If you are not offered a place at this school you have the right of appeal against the decision not to allocate a place to your child. Appeals are heard by an independent panel. You can get an appeal form from Solihull Council website

20 school days after your outcome letter |
30 school days after your appeal form has been received or as soon as reasonably practical |
Appeals received after the deadline will be heard within the schedule, if possible. However, if the form is received in late June the appeal may not be heard until after the school summer holidays.
Appeals are not heard during the school holidays.
