Proud to be an FMAT Academy

To mark National Apprenticeship Week, our Year 10 Engineering students had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Careers in Engineering and Construction event at the IMAX, Millennium Point. This inspiring event brought together over 25 leading local and national employers, giving our students direct access to some of the biggest names in the industry.

Students engaged in meaningful conversations with organisations including HS2, Vinci Building, National Highways England, Lovell, Equans and many more. With Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeship opportunities available, this event provided invaluable insight into real career pathways that are immediately accessible to our current Year 10 and Year 11 students.

The experience offered far more than just information — it allowed students to build confidence, expand their horizons and gain first-hand advice on how to successfully secure an apprenticeship.

The day was made even more memorable with a photograph alongside the High Sheriff of the West Midlands, Mr Mark Smith, who attended the event on behalf of His Majesty King Charles III — a fitting highlight to a great opportunity for our students!
